The Noosa River - (see map)
The Noosa River catchment is a relatively un-modified system with particularly high environmental, cultural heritage and scenic values. It is also an extremely sought after recreation, tourist, agriculture and fisheries resource which makes a substantial contribution to the local Noosa economy.
Over the years, the Noosa River has been transformed into a playground for the water enthusiast, nature lover, tourists & locals alike. The Noosa River is widely recognised as one of most pristine waterways in Australia with it's 'A' rating and with the guardian being that of its local community, it's certain to remain that way without any doubt. The river attracts thousands of visitors who enjoy everything from the good old Aussie BBQ to dining in some of the best restaurants in the whole of Noosa of which are dotted along Gympie Terrace and into Thomas Street.
With lunch out of the way you can move into a little more adventurous activity like Jet Skiing, Paddle Boarding, Fishing or hire a boat and cruise the afternoon away in the gentle breezes that flow across the Noosa River. I guess it simply depends on what motivates you but be assured there is plenty to see and do including a casual cruise on the Noosa Ferry taking in the magnificent sunset at the end of the day. The grassy foreshore area is the ideal place for the enjoyment of people of all ages. Once you experience the Noosa River for yourself, I dare say that you too will be drawn into its charm just like everybody else that visits the Noosa River on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
